The 5 curators of Dak’Art 2010 in charge of the selection had to submit a list of 7 artists never exhibited in the biennale, chosen in between 400 application portfolios or resulting of personal choices.
Kunlé Filani :
Kunle Filani is a well known artist,having already organised six personal exhibitions and many group exhibitions.He is also an essayist, a poet, an historian and an administrator in the field of education .He is a member of the International Association of Art Critics.
Marème Malong Samb :
Honorary Consul of Senegal in Cameroon, she is also in charge of the Art and Culture Programme of the MTN foundation Cameroon since 2005 for the artistic revival and the assistance to art projects. She is a member of the Board of the Charles Donwahi Foundation for contemporary art in Abidjan.
Marylin Martin :
Director of the Art Collections of Cape Town Museums. Former Director of the South African National Gallery of Cape Town. She was a teacher at the Faculty of Arts of Kingston (United Kingdom) and constantly contri butes to the Art South Africa Review and the Die Burger Newspaper.
Sylvain Sankalé :
President of the Scientific Committee of the Biennale of Contemporary African Art « DAK’ART 2000 » and then President of the Think Tank on the statutes of the International Biennale of Contemporary African Art ». Member of the Advisory Committee of the Gallery « Le Manége », he participated in the draft of most of the catalogues published by that gallery. Selected as an expert by the senegalese ministry of Culture for a « study on a biennial of contemporary african art ».
Rachida Triki :
University lecturer in aesthetics and art philosophy, art critic and curator, president of the Tunisian Associan of aesthetics and poetic,correspondent of art and aesthetics reviews, among them poetic and Art’in Researches.
